Introduction to Respect Education

This prerequisite to Respect Education’s online courses is a free introduction to the work of the Canadian Red Cross and its award-winning program dedicated to promoting respect and preventing violence.

Key Topic Areas Include: The Canadian Red Cross, Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross, history of the Red Cross, the aim and approach of Respect Education, Respect Education’s programs and work in Canada and worldwide, creating safe environments, preventing bullying between youth, preventing teen dating violence, preventing child abuse and neglect, preventing workplace bullying.

Be Safe! Information for Parents

This short information session provides parents and caregivers with high-level information about the philosophy of Be Safe! and the contents of the Be Safe! Kit. Be Safe! will equip your child with concrete safety skills and is based on children’s rights and concepts such as body ownership, how to keep one’s body healthy and safe, and respect for self and others.

Be Safe! is a personal safety program for children aged five to nine years, with a focus on healthy relationships and child sexual abuse prevention.

In 8 lessons, Be Safe! introduces children to their rights, reinforces healthy relationships, helps them identify safe and unsafe touching and teaches the simple and effective personal safety rules: Say “NO!” GO! TELL!

Be Safe!  has a simple, yet powerful goal: to let children know they have a right to be safe and provide the steps to get help if they need help!

Be Safe! Overview for Administrators

This overview for school/program administrators offers high-level information for a successful “whole-school” launch of Be Safe! in your school or community. Topics covered are: what Be Safe! is; what children learn through Be Safe!; Be Safe! teaching tools; training for educators; and implementation strategies for a whole-school approach.

Be Safe! is a personal safety program for children aged five to nine, with a focus on healthy relationships and child sexual abuse prevention.

Be Safe!’s goal is simple, yet powerful: Tell children they have a right to be safe, and provide the steps to get help anytime they need it.

Be Safe! Training for Educators

Familiarize yourself with the key aspects of the Be Safe! Kit. Learn to cooperatively work with parents on this topic, to properly handle any disclosures that arise, and to comfortably teach the Be Safe! lessons on child personal safety (sexual abuse prevention).

This training is for educators and staff of schools and organizations who have already purchased the Be Safe! Kit.

Healthy Youth Relationships

Healthy Youth Relationships helps teens gain the knowledge and skills to develop healthy relationships and prevent dating violence—emotional, physical and sexual. Animated characters guide participants through the course’s content, interactive games and quizzes.
